  “event 201” was an exercise organized in october 2019 to simulate what might happen if there was a severe pandemic.. it invited people from business, government, and public health to simulate coordinating a policy response to a theoretical pandemic.. .

  Cue all the infowars educated 'scientists'.

  It has been known for decades that the most likely cause of any future pandemic would be a sars-like virus. Because of this, health authorities have been preparing for such an event for years. That doesnt mean it was planned, or man-made- they simply knew it was inevitable that at some point, a virus in an animal could jump to humans and cause a pandemic. Thats why event 201 used a sars virus as their model.

  I have come to believe that JW s are some of the most gullible people on the planet.

  You would have to think that any witness aged 45 or over would be experiencing some unpleasant cognitive dissonance with these appointments. Unless they have just become so beaten down with change that they are prepared to accept anything.

  When i was a teenager in the 80's, the very few anointed that I personally knew seemed ancient. A remnant of a select group, all born before 1914 - almost gone.

  Fast forward to 2023 and they have morphed into an ever younger group of Ipad wielding hipsters.

  The Last of Us

  looking forward to the first episode of this new computer-game to tv-show adaptation that airs this sunday.. it has pedro pascal from got and the madalorian plus bella ramsey, also from got, who played the bad-ass lady mormont.. lots of it was filmed near us, some right round the corner (there's quite a few productions film around here, we get ice-cream near where they filmed scenes from interstellar).. this show is a post-apocalyptic zombie series and early reviews are that it's awesome, so i'm hoping for good things, especially since walking dead jumped the shark a few seasons ago and we gave up on it.. anyone else planning to watch?.

  Is it Logical To Beleive In A Creator - GOD ? In This Scientific Age ?

  i don`t think so .

  hasn`t science ,astronomy ,time , .....proven it an illogical beleif ?.

  with the information about this solar system and it`s planets ,other stars and their planets that we have information about ,and the fact that no god has ever revealed him/her self in any shape or form 'there is no evidence that a creator / god has ever existed.. except in the minds of humans who want to control a section of humanity .. the fact that religions rely on "you have to have faith" to beleive in a god ,surely is a cop out.. i look forward to your comments .. and a happy new year to you all..

  Hi Smiddy,

  The only logical thing- in my mind anyway, is that all the gods that exist were created (made up) by humans to explain the natural world around them and help them cope with the sting of death. Whether someone was good or bad became tied to a blessing or a curse from the gods.

  Over the centuries, religion has developed and been used to control and coerce.

  I upvote some things that Vidquin shares and I certainly don’t need Rivergang or Joey-Joe Joe to explain anything to me… other than how they expect to produce batteries for EVs without someone raping the environment or groups of people who inhabit areas where rare minerals are to be found.

  Good for you if you upvote Vidquns Facebook memes that attempt to offer scientific evidence to support his claims.

  Struggling to find a purpose

  i spent most of my life in the org.

  we were taught that our purpose in life was to serve jehovah.

  that never really made sense to me, but it was still a purpose to keep going.

  I've heard it said that one measure of happiness relates to our education matching our intelligence.

  Another quote is that if you do what you love, you will never work another day in your life.

  Most of us raised as JW's did not have the chance to explore our interests. Our parents and the elders actively discouraged higher education and cautioned about spending too much time in selfish pursuits. We ended up taking menial jobs just to wait it out for Armageddon.

  No wonder there are so many unhappy jws.

  Very few JW's nurture their childrens talents and interests related to higher education.

  This no doubt plays a role in causing dissatisfaction in life as we have gotten older and we regret lost opportunities.

  On a bright note, more people than ever are attending higher education as mature age students, so if you feel you have an itch that you never scratched as a young jw, you can always sign up to a course, join a club, or whatever. You never know who you will meet and what it will lead to.

  The pandemic was talked up as a sign we are in the last day of the last part of the last part of the last day before the last day, or whatever it was Stephen Lett said.

  Now the world is returning to normal maybe a lot have woken up to the fact that the pandemic hasn't led to the new system and that this earth just keeps spinning, regardless of what the GB say is going to happen.

  a new space telescope launched a few days age that will supposedly be able to see to within 100 million years of the big bang.

  wow... only 100 million years from the big bang.

  that is pretty early given the 12 billion year age of the universe assigned by scholars who adhere to naturalism.

  Without being dogmatic- because I am certainly no astrophysicist, the JWST causing a re-think of early universe modelling does not automatically imply that the only alternative is a creation theory.
